Army veteran worked for LTF and Maverick Tube Corp.
Albert A. Darby of McMurray, went to his eternal home Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
He was the beloved husband of Diana S. Darby; loving father of Diane K. (Richard) Smith of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and David A. (Carol) Darby of Upper St. Clair; dear brother of Julia Bucher of Denver, Colo.; special brother-in-law of Barbara (John) Hocker of Bethesda, Md.; cherished and devoted grandfather of Summer Smith, Kyle (Rachael) Smith, Justin (Becky) Darby, Derek Darby and Stephen Darby.
Mr. Darby was a graduate of Kansas State University.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years as an infantry officer during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Darby retired in 1995 after 40 years in the oil and gas industry, working for LTV Energy and Maverick Tube Corp.
Among his favorite pastimes were sports, volunteering, church activities and traveling.
He was an active member of The Bible Chapel in McMurray. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ, and knew he was only transient on this earth before going to spend eternity with his living Father and Savior.
Friends are welcome from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday in Beinhauers Funeral Home, 2828 Washingtion Road, McMurray, 724-941-3211. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 7, in The Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray, PA 15317. Everyone will please meet at the church. A private interment will be held Monday in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
