Marie G. Patti Greskovich

Enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining

Marie G. Patti Greskovich, 91, of Monongahela, died Friday, September 6, 2013, in her home.

Born May 4, 1922, in Monessen, she was a daughter of the late Salvatore and Rosa Catalano Patti.

Mrs. Greskovich grew up in Charleroi and moved to Monongahela, where she raised her family.

A hard worker, she was a retired inspector with the state Department of Labor and Industry, and she also owned and operated the former Patti’s Lounge in New Eagle.

She was very active in the Washington County Democratic Women’s Club, but her greatest joys were cooking, baking and entertaining family and friends.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda R. (John) Volkar of Valencia; daughter-in-law and caregiver, Toni Moffit of Monongahela; four grandchildren, John and Matthew Volkar, Shawn Moffit and Jaimie Moffit Amati; three great-grandchildren, John Alex Volkar, Ariana Lyn Volkar and Aleena Amati; brother Joseph Patti of Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, deceased are her husband, Frank “Grasse” Greskovich; son Michael “Timmy” Moffit; and sister Sadie DiPiazza.

Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home Inc., 819 Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, 724-483-5545, www.spallinofuneralhome.com, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, September 9, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Damien of Molokai Parish, 722 West Main Street, Monongahela, with the Rev. William Terza as celebrant. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery.
