Rocco Nardozzo

Korean War veteran

Rocco Nardozzo, 82, of Munhall, died Saturday, September 7, 2013.

He was a son of the late Donato and Teresa Galucci Nardozzo; beloved husband of 44 years of the late Diana Stachelski Nardozzo; loving father of Terri (Chuck) Redpath, Dan Nardozzo, Laura (Tom) Spernak and Greg (Tracy) Nardozzo; brother of two siblings who died in childhood; grandfather of Justin (Bonnie) Redpath, Brian Redpath, Katie Redpath, Bennet Spernak, Jillian Spernak, Leah Nardozzo and Rocco Nardozzo; and several dear friends and neighbors.

Also surviving is his beloved canine friend Scout.

Mr. Nardozzo was an U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked two full-time jobs to support his family as an expeditor for J & L Steel Works and as a postal clerk with the U.S. Postal Service for over 50 years, and was proud that he had the most seniority at that facility.

He was the most wonderful father and family man, who dedicated his life to his family and was most happy when they were all together at the beach. He will be missed dearly. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Savolskis – Wasik – Glenn Funeral Home Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 12, in St. Therese of Lisieux Church, Munhall, followed by graveside services in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in his name to the Autism Society of Pittsburgh.
