Dorothy Louise Vandegrift
1923-2013
Dorothy Louise Vandegrift, 90, of McMurray, went home to her Lord September 7, 2013.
A native of Brentwood, she was born January 16, 1923, a daughter of the late Perry O. Black and Ruth Ann Price.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Edward M. Vandegrift III; three sons, Ed (Betty Jean) Vandegrift of Washington, John Vandegrift of Pittsburgh and Tom (Tonra) Vandegrift; two grandsons, Lee and Will of Florida; a younger brother, Robert (Ruth) Black of McMurray; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is her older brother, Perry (Elma) Black.
She was devout follower of Jesus Christ, who delighted in church activities, children, pets, sports and baking. Her gentle, unassuming nature, was a blessing to everyone and she was loved by all
Interment for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. There will be a celebration of life held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21, in Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray, PA 15317.
