Gene A. Day
Former Center Township employee
Gene A. Day, 76, of Rogersville, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, in Golden Living Center, Waynesburg.
He was born March 20, 1937, in Nineveh, a son of the late Homer L. and Elizabeth Gunn Day.
Mr. Day was a graduate of West Greene High School.
He worked for the Carnegie Natural Gas Co. in Waynesburg for 29 years. He had also worked seven years for Center Township. He served as a deputy game protector for the Pennsylvania Game Commission for 10 years.
Mr. Day was a life member of Waynesburg Elks Lodge BPOE 757.
Surviving are a brother, Happy L. Day of Waynesburg; three nieces, Sue Day Stewart of Graysville, Barbara Day of Allentown and Bonnie Day of Brockport, N.Y.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased are four brothers, Harley, Kermit, Dale and Vance Day.
Friends will be received noon to 2 p.m., the time of service, Sunday, September 15, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. Bruce Judy officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Wind Ridge.
