Martha Dean Brown Blain, 90, of Denver Colo., passed way Wednesday, September 11, 2013, in Life Care Center of Aurora, Colo.
She was born October 17, 1922, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Dr. William C. and Sallie Hoge Brown.
Mrs. Blain was also called “Deanie. “
She was a graduate of West Virginia University.
Mrs. Blain was a creative person and very active in music and dance throughout her life. Her passion was golf and she was a world traveler.
She resided in Clearwater, Fla., for many years and moved to Colorado in the 1990s.
Mrs. Blain was the last of her immediate family.
Surviving are cousins in the Waynesburg area and nieces, nephews and many friends in Colorado.
Deceased are her husband, Earle Blain, a highly decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy submarine service, who died in 1995, and a brother, Dr. Charles W. Brown, an orthopedic surgeon in Denver.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 20, in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, with the Rev. William Sukolsky officiating. Interment will follow in Greene Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg.
