Paul Richard Templin Sr., 68, of Triadelphia, W.Va., died Monday, September 23, 2013, in his home.

He was born March 31, 1945, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of the late Frederick and Goldie Stewart Templin.

Mr. Templin was graduate of the former McKinley High School in Wheeling.

He was Protestant.

Mr. Templin retired from Valley Camp Coal Co. Mine 3 after 17 and a half years, and retired as owner/operator of Bulk Milk Hauler after 36 years.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is his best friend, Ed McGrath.

Surviving are his loving wife of 48 years, Carol Clark Templin; two sons, Jeffery, at home, and Paul Richard Jr. and wife Maria of Rushville, Ohio; a granddaughter, Brooke Templin; a grandson, Tyler Templin both of Rushville, Ohio; a brother and sister; three aunts, Helen Boeshansc and Clara Dixon of Columbus, Ohio, and Virginia Georgi of Paramount, Calif.; several cousins who meant so much to him; goddaughters Lindsey Bise, Haylie Hunter and Payton Hunter, all of Triadelphia; godsons Noah Crow and Bobbie Crow III, both of Triadelphia. So many young people have called his house a home, and they were like his own children, including Terry Lewis, Kenneth and Linda Craig, Mary McGrath Stone, Dallas and Aggie Hall, Bob and Patsy Crow, Brad Stewart, Bill Lipscomb, Stacie and John Hunter, Michelle and Bill Heath, and his special cousin and mechanic, Gary and Nancy Stewart Hoskinson.

He was a member of Wheeling Reelers and Ohio Valley Promanaders. He loved to travel, but best of all, he loved to talk. He never met a stranger. He loved trains, but most of all, he loved his wife.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday in Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, 304-242-2311, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28, with the Rev. Dennis Arnold officiating. Interment in West Alexander Cemetery. Personal condolences may be offered at www.kepnerfuneral.com.
