Bettie J. Ellis, 89, of Washington, died Thursday, September 26, 2013, in Washington Hospital.

She was a daughter of the late John and Grace Ellis.

After attending Washington High School, she went on to work as a line worker for Brockway Glass, then as a presser for Fi-Del Cleaners. Her last employment was with Washington City Mission.

Surviving are three daughters, Gloria Richardson of Canonsburg, Barbara (Ellis) Boone of Lacey, Wash., and Dorinda (Harold) Martin of Atlanta, Ga.; five grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Deceased are two brothers, Charles and James Ellis; and a sister, Helen Logan.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the hour of service, Tuesday, October 1, in St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Washington, with the Rev. Samuel Ware officiating.
