Ronald Edward Clapp, 47, of Lykens, passed away with family by his side Sunday, September 29, 2013, in Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.

He was born Tuesday, August 2, 1966, in Washington, to David Clapp and Patricia Bainer Hoek.

Mr. Clapp is survived by his loving wife, Martha Ann Molchen Clapp.

He is a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1984, and went on to proudly serve his country in the U.S. Air Force. After the military, he continued to serve and protect as a corporal in the Pennsylvania State Police.

Mr. Clapp was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Keystone Lodge 41, Pennsylvania State Police hockey team, Road Dawgs motorcycle club and a faithful member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and friend who will be dearly missed.

Also surviving are two sons, David Clapp and wife Lauren and Daniel Clapp; and a brother, Scott Clapp.

Family and friends are invited for viewing 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday in Rothermel Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 25 W. Pine Street, Palmyra.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, October 3, in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 359 W. Areba Avenue, Hershey, with the Rev. Pius Tukura Michael and the Rev. Darius G.C. Moss as celebrants. Burial with full military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Troopers Helping Troopers, 3625 Vartan Way, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
