Enjoyed grandchildren, travel and country music
Shirley Yvonne Anderson, 74, of Washington, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, February 5, 2014 in Washington County Health Center, following a courageous 24-year battle with cancer.
She was born February 22, 1939, in Burgettstown, a daughter of Willis Earl and Gaynelle Hartley Dillie.
Mrs. Anderson worked at the former Ankrom (Kade’s) Nursing Home as an aide, and then spent many happy years as a devoted homemaker. She enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren, travel and country music. She played slap bass.
She was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Anderson was married to Carl Lee Anderson, who died in 1990.
Surviving are a son, Carl Eric (Cindy) Anderson, and a daughter, Kimberly D. (David) Orndoff, both of Washington; a son-in-law, Kevin Krepps; a brother, Curtis R. Dillie of Eighty Four; two sisters, Geraldine Kearns of Washington and Darlene Burnett of McMurray; seven grandchildren, Kevin Ryan Krepps, Kristin Renee (Chris) Lemley, Sheila Yvonne Bonus, Alicia Marie Bonus, Kayla Ann Bonus, Tori Lynn Anderson and Michael Lee Anderson; a great-grandson, Julian M. Brindle; four stepgrandchildren, Joshua L. and Olivia J. Orndoff and Sam D. and Erica Yeager; five stepgreatgrandchildren, Devon, Jaden, Ava, Violet and Zach; many nieces and nephews; and her dear friend, Chuck Greer.
Deceased are her oldest daughter, Brenda Lee Krepps; two brothers, Willis D. and Keith M. Dillie; and four sisters, Zelda McKay, Sylvia James, Dolores Felger and Evagean Mallas.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, funeral director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, with minister David Deagel officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
