Robert Louis Lett Sr., 79, of Hendersonville, died Friday, February 7, 2014, in Country Meadows Nursing Home, Bridgeville.
He was born October 29, 1934, in Van Voorhis, a son of the late Ollie Sr. and Gladys Brown Lett.
Mr. Lett had worked for Mayview State Hospital as a butcher.
He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Canonsburg.
Mr. Lett was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a member of Canon Lodge 186 IBPOE and American Legion.
Surviving are four children, Casondra Washington (Steve) of Moon Township and Robert L. Lett Jr., Tyrone Lett (Virginia) and Ericka Williams, all of Hendersonville; 10 grandchildren, Rachel Cole (Dennis), Angel Lett (Jeffrey), Jessica Lett, Sydney Williams, Stephanie and Stephen Washington, Faith and Logan Lett and Alexis and Milak Moss; two great-grandchildren, Kamrie and Dadrien Cole; three brothers, Ollie Lett Jr. (Patricia “Tissie”) of Hendersonville, Eugene Lett (Bora) of Sacramento, Calif., and Douglas Prime (Louise) of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Geraldine Fleming of Washington and Shirley Mae Paige of Anniston, Ala.; the mother of his children, Linda Lett of Hendersonville; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Deceased is a brother, William “Pee Wee” Lett.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Additional visitation will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday, February 13, in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Canonsburg, where services will begin at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Anita Lovell officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg.
