U.S. Army veteran worked as coal miner
Joseph Ladisic Sr., 77, of Cokeburg, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014, in Washington Hospital.
He was born January 31, 1937, in Cokeburg, a son of the late Mike and Anna Zupancic Ladisic.
Mr. Ladisic was a U.S. Army veteran. He was an underground coal miner for Beth Energy Mine No. 60, where he worked as a roof bolter for many years. He worked for General Motors, Fischer Body plant, McKeesport, in his earlier years.
Mr. Ladisic was a member of Croation Fraternal Union No. 354, Cokeburg, and played in the Adult Tamburitzans.
He enjoyed his family, woodworking and gardening.
On April 2, 1960, he married Janet E. Christopher Ladisic, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Gary Ladisic (Jane) of Lake Placid, N.Y., and Jason Ladisic of Oakdale; two grandsons, Zachary and Joshua Ladisic; a brother, Peter Ladisic of Cokeburg; two sisters, Viola Zegilla and Dolores “Dolly” Goblesky, both of Cokeburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a son, Joseph Ladisic Jr.; four sisters, Julia Weiner, Leona Puskarich, Rosella LaBrasca and Janice Yoskey; and a brother, Marion “Merk” Ladisic.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main Street, Bentleyville, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 17.
