Loved spending time with grandchildren
Kathleen E. Boylan Madigan, 67, of Washington, died Wednesday, February 12, 2014, as a result of a long-term illness.
She was born August 3, 1946, in Philadelphia, a daughter of James H. Boylan of Washington and the late Dorothy A. Boylan.
Mrs. Madigan was a 1964 graduate of Immaculate Conception High School in Washington, then went on to earn a business degree from Robert Morris College.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Washington, where she was employed as the office manager of the rectory. As an active member of the parish, she also served as a Eucharistic minister and was involved in many other organizations in the church.
Mrs. Madigan enjoyed decorating and cooking, but most of all, loved spending time with her grandchildren.
On July 1, 1967, in Immaculate Conception Church in Washington, she married David C. Madigan Sr., who died July 18, 1996.
Surviving are two daughters, Aimee (Hank) Bradley of Norman, Okla., and Susan (Derek) Colantonio of Washington; a son, David C. (Lisa) Madigan Jr. of Lawton, Okla.; a brother, Dr. Thomas (Lois) Boylan of Chevy Chase, Md.; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Alan) Jutca of Washington and Theresa (Myles) Meehan of Philadelphia; nine grandchildren, McKenzie, David III and Katie Madigan of Lawton, William and Andrew Bradley of Norman, and Matthew, Caroline, Annie and Charlie Colantonio of Washington; an aunt and uncle, Mary Ann and William Boylan; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her mother and husband, deceased is a sister, Patricia A. Dimmack.
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday in Dale D. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 1290 Jefferson Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, February 17, in Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Washington. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
