Robert F. Klinger, 82, of Canonsburg, passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014, in Golden Living Center, Canonsburg.

He was born September 22, 1931, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Steven and Minnie Marx Klinger.

Mr. Klinger served in the US. Army in Korean War.

He lived most of his life in Canonsburg.

Mr. Klinger worked as an ironworker for Local 550 and for United Mine Workers of America Local 2394, before his retirement.

He was a member of American Legion Post 902 of Houston and SNPJ Lodge 138 of Strabane.

On July 2, 1954, he married his beloved wife, Donna J. Dixon, who passed away September 13, 2004.

Surviving are three sons, Robert F. (Bernie) Klinger of Muse, Gary A. Klinger of Athens, Ohio, and Richard J. (Beth) Klinger of Houston; four grandchildren, Mindy (Tim) Patterson, and Charlene “Charlie,” Jacob and Aaron Klinger; and great-grandson Gavin Patterson.

At the request of the deceased, there will be no visitation. Services and burial will be private and held at later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Salandra Funeral Service Inc., Joseph P.
