Loving mother, talented seamstress
Dorothy Trax Bebout, 86, of Venetia, died peacefully Sunday, February 23, 2014, in Allegheny General Hospital, from injuries suffered in a fall at her home.
She was born November 10, 1927, in Library, a daughter of the late George C. and Elizabeth Hast Trax.
Mrs. Bebout was a graduate of the former Snowden High School in Library.
On November 19, 1949, in Peters Creek Baptist Church in Library, she married the love of her life, Ira E. Bebout Jr., who passed away October 25, 1998. Together they owned and operated Bebout Farm in Venetia, eventually turning the operations over to their son, Thomas and his wife, Corrine.
She was a proud farm wife and a loving mother, who was devoted to the land, her home, her family and her many friends.
Mrs. Bebout loved her Lord and her church. She was a faithful member of Peters Creek United Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years.
She was a talented seamstress and quilter and a longtime member of Martha Washington Quilters Guild.
Surviving are two children, Thomas (Corrine) Bebout and Carol Bebout Coffield of Venetia; two grandchildren, Scott (Liz) of Venetia and Jennifer Bebout of Sewickley; the joy of her life, her two great-grandsons, Caleb and Teague Bebout, of Venetia; two brothers, Robert Trax of Finleyville and William Trax of Bridgeville; a sister, Elizabeth Pust of Granada Hills, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased is a brother, Ralph Trax.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, in Peters Creek United Presbyterian Church, Venetia, with Doug Brandt officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Monongahela Cemetery.
