Laberta DiFlauro D’Amico

Laberta DiFlauro D’Amico, 85, of Canonsburg, died unexpectedly Thursday, January 9, 2014, in Canonsburg Hospital.

She was born November 17, 1928, in Johnstown, a daughter of the late John and Amelia Tamburro DiFlauro.

Mrs. D’Amico was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Canonsburg for many years.

She loved to bake and share recipes and goodies with her family and friends. She loved her family and considered her friends a part of her extended family.

On November 16, 1957, in Immaculate Conception Church, Pittsburgh, she married Domenic D’Amico, who survives, with whom she recently celebrated 56 years of marriage.

Surviving are two daughters, Amy and Christine D’Amico, and a son, Alfonzo (Cindy) D’Amico, all of Canonsburg; a brother, Raymond DiFlauro of California; a nephew, John DiFlauro and his family of California; an aunt and uncle, Rose and Nick Tamburro and their family of Verona; and many loved cousins and friends.

Deceased are a brother, Abraham DiFlauro, and a niece, Michelle DiFlauro.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Mario L. DeAngelo Funeral Home, 194 East College Street, Canonsburg, where departing prayers will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 13, followed at 11 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. The Christian Mothers of St. Patrick Parish will pray the rosary at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, 501 Street Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
