Visitation for Kenneth Elliot, 78, of Amity, who died March 6, 2014, will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at Nichol Funeral Home, 1873 East Maiden Street, Washington.
Carla Fritch, 62, of Burgettstown, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 7, 2014, in Weirton (W.Va.) Medical Center.

World War II veteran
Melvin J. Marietta, 89, of Dilliner, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.
Born June 4, 1924, in Dunbar, he was a son of the late Jacob and Olive Brewer Marietta.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Marietta retired from the Shannopin Mine in Bobtown, and was a proud member for 60 years of United Mine Workers of America, and a member of American Legion.
Surviving are his children, Melvin Dale Marietta of Florida, George Marietta of Dilliner, Charles Wayne Marietta of Arizona, John R. Marietta of Downingtown, Melba Jean Marietta-Thomas of Pittsburgh and Alice Carol Pecjak of Mapletown; a stepson, Curt Barrett of Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Marietta of Carlisle; and two sisters, Joan Colvin of Crucible and Shirley Brubaker of Texas.
Deceased are his wife, Alice Kuhn, in 1985; a son, John W. Marietta; a brother, Paul; and a sister, Jean Willenburg.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of funeral services, Tuesday, March 11, in Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, Point Marion, Philip S. Rishel, owner and director. Pastor Beverly Roscoe will officiate. Interment will follow in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner, with military rites accorded at the graveside by the Point Marion Veterans posts.

Former Waynesburg resident
Norma Jean Waychoff, formerly of Waynesburg, passed away March 3, 2014, in Leesburg, Fla., in the home of her daughter following a brief illness.
She was born July 22, 1933, in Mt. Morris, a daughter of the late Charles and Birdie Russell Coss.
Surviving is her husband of 60 years, Charles R. “Bill” Waychoff. They resided in the Waynesburg and Chester, W.Va., areas, before retiring to Florida in 1989.
Also surviving are two children, William Waychoff of Colorado and Sheree Spurlock of Florida; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles Coss of Ohio.
Deceased are brothers Dr. Harry Coss and Franklin Coss, and sisters Nell Riddle, Mary Shimek, Marlyn Kughn and Susanna Prinkey.
Services were held March 7 in Calvary Baptist Church, Leesburg, with interment in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
