Beloved husband, loving father

Lloyd B. Goodwin, 81, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Jefferson, Greene County, died peacefully Friday, March 7, 2014.

He was the beloved husband of the late Marlene Speicher Goodwin; son of the late Norman and Stella Orndoff Goodwin; loving father of L. Todd Goodwin and Jodi (Bruce) Goodwin Beemer, both of Pittsburgh; brother of the late Earl Goodwin, Raymond Goodwin, Katherine Snyder and Ross Goodwin; and beloved “PopPop” of Jackson and Jordan Beemer.

Mr. Goodwin served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

He was employed for 25 years as a welfare fraud investigation agent with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Office of Inspector General.

Devoted to his family, he will be remembered as an impeccably dressed, quintessential gentleman who always had a smile.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Simons Funeral Home Inc., 7720 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 11. Interment will be held in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
