Andrew C. “Poochie” Boyd, 82, of Canonsburg, formerly of Lawrence, died Friday, March 14, 2014, in Canonsburg Hospital.
He was born February 17, 1932, in Lawrence, a son of the late Susan Boyd Gregory.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Boyd worked as a steel worker for Universal Cyclops and later worked for Patti Petite Cookie Factory.
Mr. Boyd was a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and SNPJ in Lawrence.
On May 2, 1970, he married D. Arlene Merkel Boyd, who survives.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Deceased, in addition to his mother, is his stepfather, Raymond Gregory.
Friends will be received from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, Phillip L. Sollon, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, with the Rev. James O’Brien, pastor of Faith Chapel in Lawrence officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Garden, McMurray.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mr. Boyd’s name to America Heart Association, Four Gateway Center, 444 Liberty Avenue, Suite 1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222-1207.
