Enjoyed traveling and golf

Walter Thomas Knox, 78, of Houston, died Thursday, August 6, 2015, in his home.

He was born May 19, 1937, in Salt Lick, Ky., a son of the late Walter Knox and Myrtle Calvert Knox.

Mr. Knox was a graduate of Duquesne High School and owned Southwest Refreshments.

He and his wife were snowbirds, spending winters in Florida. He loved his cats and enjoyed traveling, camping, boating, golf and spending time with friends.

On July 25, 2009, he married Dianne Simonelli, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Kenny Knox of Carnegie; two daughters, Kathy Lupi of Carnegie and Shannon Larson (Erik) of Sewickley; three sisters, Bette Knox of Florida, Shannon Exline (Ronald) of North Carolina and Peggy Kopke of Florida; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased is a brother, Bobby Knox.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 10. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
