Loving mother and grandmother

Ruth Craft Braddy, 89, passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015, in Denver, Colo., from complications of Alzheimer’s disease.

She was born April 23, 1926, in Jefferson, a daughter of the late Frank and Edna Hewitt Craft.

Mrs. Braddy was a 1944 graduate of Jefferson High School. After graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C., where she worked in the Pentagon during World War II.

After the war, she moved to West Palm Beach, Fla., where she met her husband, Harold D. Braddy. They were married September 3, 1949. Following their marriage, they moved to Bethesda, Md., then to Jackson, Miss., before finally settling in Denver in 1962. Mr. Braddy passed away in 1977.

During the 52 years that she lived in Denver, she made some very special friends with whom she enjoyed traveling. Her other activities included playing bridge, league bowling, golf and going to the movies. She was always deep into a good mystery novel, a challenging crossword puzzle or a 1,000-piece picture puzzle. She was always an enthusiastic fan of the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies.

She will always be remembered as a loving and patient mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family.

Surviving are her three children, Stephen Braddy and Amy Braddy Wesoloskie of Denver, and Gary Braddy of Haltom City, Texas; two grandchildren, Ryan and Tyler Braddy, and three great-grandchildren, Kenzie, Parker and Benjamin, all of Denver; a sister, Jean Craft Murray, and nephew Kurt Murray, both of Fredericksburg, Va.

Burial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 26, in Jefferson Cemetery.
