Paul E. Small
Paul E. Small, 90, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, November 30, 2017, in TownView Health and Rehabilitation Center, Canonsburg.
He was born August 29, 1927, in Canonsburg, a son of James and Cora Cannon Small.
Mr. Small was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater.
He retired from Cooper Power Systems in Canonsburg after 40 years of service as an electrical finisher.
Mr. Small was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg, American Legion Post 902 of Houston and a former member of Canonsburg United Methodist Church.
He was married to Dorothy Gallagher, who died January 4, 1987.
Surviving are a son, Barry R. Small (Betty) of Charlotte, N.C.; three grandchildren, Matthew Small (Erin), Elizabeth Laxague (Adam Fiebelkorn) and Jason Laxague (Jennifer); three great-granddaughters, Ansley and Riley Small and Margot Laxague; a sister, June Jones of Pataskala, Ohio; a special friend, Gladys “Becky” Raineri; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, Wesley Small; grandson Mark Small; three brothers, James, Merrill and Burton Small; and four sisters, Mary Jane Gray, Cora McColmont, Myrta Cowden and Anne Small.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 4. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray, where full military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.
