Josephine Ball Hart

Josephine “Jo” Ball Hart, 91, of Washington, formerly of Waynesburg, died at 12:25 p.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017, in Premiere Washington Healthcare Center, Washington.

She was born Friday, February 5, 1926, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late Albert Ball and Nettie Taylor Ball.

Mrs. Hart was a member of First Baptist Church in Waynesburg, where she was a member of Hallmark Sunday School Class. Throughout the years she served on various boards at the church. She was formerly a member of Western Travel Trailor Club of the Midwest. Mrs Hart was an honorary member of two camp grounds.

She had worked for several years as a licensed practical nurse for Greene County at the former Curry Home, and had also worked at Greene County Memorial Hospital in the record library.

On April 24, 1980, she married Edward M. “Mel” Hart, who died November 12, 1992.

Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Warman of Stoneboro; a son-in-law, Michael Perry of Waynesburg; a granddaughter, Allison Perry; a brother-in-law, Merle Rhodes of Columbia, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased are a daughter, Janet Perry; a sister, Sara Jean “Sally” Rhodes; and a brother, Richard Albert Ball.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in Milliken and Throckmorton Funeral Home Inc., Daryl L. Throckmorton, owner/director, 197 North Maiden Street, Waynesburg, PA 15370, where services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, with the Rev. Edward Peirce officiating. Burial will be in Greene Co. Memorial Park, Morgan Township.
