Geraldine E. DeGennaro
Geraldine E. DeGennaro, 85, of Canonsburg, died Monday, December 4, 2017, in South Hills Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, Canonsburg.
She was born July 14, 1932, in Chartiers Township, a daughter of Leroy and Harriett Byers Phillips.
Mrs. DeGennaro was a 1950 graduate of Chartiers High School.
She worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Co. She later worked for Shop ‘n Save at several locations and cleaned at Ethan Allen Furniture Gallery.
On August 28, 1953, she married Albert DeGennaro, who died January 13, 1995.
Surviving are three children, Sharon Cox (George) and Brian A. DeGennaro, both of Canonsburg, and David A. DeGennaro (Mary) of Washington; seven grandchildren, George Cox Jr. (Robin), Jennifer Cox, Tiffany Jamerson and Ashley Jo, Michael (Madison), Alan (Mary Mick) and Jesse DeGennaro; and eight great-grandchildren, George, Evabella, Delaney and Piper Cox, Keighan and Tierney Jamerson and Jaxon and Cecilia DeGennaro.
Friends will be received from 3 to 4 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, December 9, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, with the Rev. Susan Petritis of Gateway Hospice officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Mission to Haiti, P.O. Box 523157, Miami, FL 33152-3157.
