Dennis Lee Verderber
Dennis Lee “Denny” Verderber, 64, of Washington, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in Washington Hospital.
He was born June 22, 1953, a son of the late John Alden and Joan Hazlett Verderber.
Mr. Verderber was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He worked at ARC, where he was recently recognized for 42 years of service.
Mr. Verderber was the world’s biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He was very active in Special Olympics with swimming, golfing and softball. He enjoyed bowling every week, word search books and loved playing pool weekly with his dad.
Surviving are three brothers, William J. (Nell) Verderber of Riverside, Calif., Timothy J. (Pam) Verderber of Washington and Gregory J. Verderber of Monroeville; three sisters, Suzanne L. Verderber of Goose Creek, S.C., Nancy J. Verderber of Washington and Kathleen A. Lightner of Washington; and a nephew, Samuel Verderber.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 16, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Washington, with Father William Feeney, as celebrant. Those attending the viewing and service, are encouraged to wear their Pittsburgh Steelers attire. Entombment will follow in St James Mausoleum, Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Washington.
