Michael E. Gaul

Michael E. Gaul, 59, of San Clemente, Calif., formerly of Washington, died Monday, December 11, 2017.

He was born December 9, 1958, in Washington, a son of the Elizabeth “Betsy” Mawhinney Gaul and the late Edwin J. Gaul Jr. of Washington.

Mr. Gaul was a 1976 graduate of Washington High School.

He enjoyed deep sea fishing, his Harley and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. He was very charismatic with a huge heart and willing to help anyone in need. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly.

In his early years, he was a general contractor in Plano, Texas, where he leaves behind family and friends, especially Vicki, Michelle and Tuesday.

Mr. Gaul was a self-employed general contractor for 25 years, building beautiful homes on the coast in southern California.

On July 18, 1998, he married Christina Schram, who survives.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, are two sons, Samuel N. Gaul of McKinney, Texas, and Michael T. Gaul of Honolulu, Hawaii; two daughters, Lindsey A. Gaul of Dallas, Texas, and Zoe A. Gaul of San Clemente; two grandchildren, Branden Matthew and Mariah Michelle, both of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Julie M. Gaul of Pittsburgh and Nancy R. Gaul of Wheeling, W.Va; and many good friends, cousins, an aunt and an uncle.

Deceased, in addition to his father, is a sister, Kathleen Ann Gaul.

All services will be private in San Clemente.
