Karen E. Michalski
Karen E. Michalski, 45, of Kent, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 14, 2017, in her home, surrounded by family.
She was born October 24, 1972, in Washington, a daughter of Stanley A. and Susan A. Smith Michalski of Bulger.
Miss Michalski was a 1990 graduate of Burgettstown Junior-Senior High School in Burgettstown and earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Carlow College in Pittsburgh.
She was employed as a registered nurse with the Department of Veterans Affairs for more than 20 years.
Miss Michalski absolutely loved being a nurse and loved her co-workers and patients very much. She loved rocking out to Guns N’ Roses and watching cooking shows and “Game of Thrones.” She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing Scrabble with her mom, watching the World Series with her dad and cuddling with her cats, Merlin and Luna. She was most happy, however, while spending time with the loves of her life, her babies, Shane, Ruby and Sadie. She had an infectious smile and never met a stranger. She truly was an angel.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a son, Shane S. (Lauren McGuigan) Carlin of Kent; daughters Ruby and Sadie Schneider of Kent; sister Nancy (Michael) Jackson of Mechanicsville, Md.; nephews Joshua and Ryan Jackson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., the time of memorial service, Wednesday, December 20, in Bissler & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 628 West Main Street, Kent.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made for Ruby and Sadie Schneider to Nancy Jackson, 26311 Meadow Wood Drive, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
