Irene Ann Bongiorni, 79, of Burgettstown, died Sunday, December 17, 2017.

She was born July 18, 1938, in Washington, a daughter of the late John and Ann Yanek Pagasky.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Bongiorni was employed by the A&P grocery store in Burgettstown. She also owned and operated the family business, along with her husband.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, Burgettstown.

Mrs. Bongiorni enjoyed traveling, reading and baking, but she most especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

On May 23, 1959, she married Richard “Ducky” Bongiorni, who died September 6, 1995.

Surviving are her sons, Richard (Dana) Bongiorni of Burgettstown and Christopher (Linnaea) Bongiorni of Burgettstown; her grandchildren, Luc, Sydney, Hope Elle, Irene Eve and Christopher Tony; her brothers, Dr. John (Sharon) Pagasky and James (Karen) Pagasky, both of Cherry Valley; her sister, Mary Lou (Tim) Sullivan of Mt. Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to noon, the time of a blessing service, Wednesday, December 20, in Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, with the Rev. George Moneck officiating. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Burgettstown Community Library, 2 Kerr Street, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
