Clara J. Krashna Dorchak
Clara J. Krashna Dorchak, 97, of Canonsburg, died Monday, December 25, 2017, in McMurray Hills Manor.
She was born September 18, 1920, in Canonsburg, the oldest daughter of the late Stephen and Josephine Szarejko Ciesla.
Mrs. Dorchak was a member of the former St. Genevieve Church, where she was active with Christian Mothers Guild, Orchard Lake Society and Rosary Society.
She was a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels. She was judge of elections in the borough of Canonsburg for many years.
Mrs. Dorchak was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to cook and looked forward to holiday and family parties. She loved polkas and polka dancing. She had endless energy and helped everyone.
On November 26, 1942, she married Nick “Chess” Krashna, who died June 15, 1987. Later in life, on June 22, 1994, she met and married her second husband, Edward Dorchak, who died February 9, 2001.
Surviving are four daughters, Linda Maffio, Diane Snedeker and husband Frank, Joanne Camerson and companion James Fall and Karen Moran and husband John Paul; six grandchildren, Michael Maffio Jr., Lisa Meyer, David Snedeker, Krista Edgar, Shannon Markley and Cassie Allison; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husbands, are two sisters, Irene and Frances Chmiel.
Mrs. Dorchak was the last of her immediate family.
Friends and family are welcome from 9 to 11:30 a.m., the time of departing prayers, Thursday, December 28, in Sollon Funeral and Cremation Services Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, Phillip L. Sollon, supervisor, J. David Sollon, director, 724-746-1000. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The staff at Gateway Hospice and McMurray Hills Manor provided Mrs. Dorchak with great love and excellent care.
