Robert Emmett “Bob” Wyland, 56, of Bolivar, formerly of Washington, died unexpectedly Sunday, December 24, 2017, in his home, as a result of an apparent heart attack.

He was born June 21, 1961, in Washington, a son of the late John G. and Nyma L. McVehil Wyland.

Mr. Wyland was a 1979 graduate of Trinity High School.

He worked as a psychiatric aide for the state of Pennsylvania at Western Center and later at Torrance State Hospital, from where he retired after more than 30 years of employment in the mental health industry.

Mr. Wyland enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was a member of several fraternal organizations, including Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22, Independent Political Club, Sons of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, American Legion Riders Post 639 and, in recent years, he became very involved with Bolivar American Legion Post 128.

Surviving are two brothers, William M. (Nancy) Wyland of Washington and Edward M. (Gerri) Wyland of Washington; three sisters, Marion (Dan) Krehel of Washington, Nyma (Ralph) Blatt of Washington and Elaine (Edward) Budner of Washington; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a brother, John C. Wyland.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., corner of Wilson and East Katherine avenues, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 29. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Moose Lodge 22 will render a service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sons of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, 168 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
