Stella Smulick Rippel
Stella Smulick Rippel, 89, of New Eagle, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in her home.
Born October 25, 1928, in Ginger Hill, she was a daughter of Joseph and Frances Maklute Smulick.
She had worked at the former Gimbels department store, before becoming a full-time homemaker. She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in New Eagle.
Mrs. Rippel enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching her well-fed birds from her porch swing and gardening. She loved her dogs, Smokey, Bandit and Smokey II.
Her memory will forever cherished by five children and their spouses, Dennis and Lori Rippel of Ohio, Wesley and Sharon Rippel of New Eagle, John and Janet Rippel of Monongahela, James and Suzanne Rippel of Ohio and Janice and Bill Neal of Monongahela; adoring grandchildren Carrie (Dwight) Wiles, Bryan (Sarah) Rippel, Matthew (Suzanne) Rippel, Sarah (Anthony) Will, Michael Rippel, Courtnee (Josh Snyder) and Marcie Neal and Tara, Zachary and Alexis Rippel; nine great-grandchildren, Shane and Emily Wiles, Makenzie and Brayden Rippel, Asher Will, Justin Chasko and Raelee, and Lexie and Lanie Snyder; and a sister-in-law, Nora Smulick of Finleyville.
Preceding her in death are her husband, Charles W. Rippel, who died April 1, 2012; a brother, John F. Smulick; and four sisters, Helen (Orville) Smail, Genevieve (George “Tuffy”) Velmer, Wanda (James) Metz and Emma (Robert) Love.
Friends will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, December 30, in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, 216 Chess Street, Monongahela, 724-258-6767. At the family’s request, interment will be private and held at a later date in Monongahela Cemetery.
