Gordon L. Bell
Gordon L. Bell, 82, of Clearwater Beach, Fla., died Monday, December 25, 2017, in Bay Pines Veterans Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born December 14, 1935, in Washington, to Lloyd H. and Mary Barnes Bell, both deceased.
After graduating from Trinity High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, earning the rank of sergeant and serving in Camp Lejeune and Guantanamo Bay. He and his brother Lloyd (deceased) were partners in C.S. Bell and Sons until retiring and closing the family business of 95 years in 1997. He was a member of The Church of the Covenant and, after moving to Clearwater, attended Chapel By The Sea in Clearwater Beach.
He was a 55 year member of Washington Masonic Lodge 164, life member of the Elks, 61 year member of American Legion and an NRA member.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Lee McWilliams Bell; daughters Kimber Lee Bowman and Karen Lee Gift; and six grandchildren.
