Sherry L.M. Jones
Sherry L.M. Jones, 67, of Canonsburg, formerly of Goat Hill, Washington, died unexpectedly Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in her home.
She was born May 29, 1950, in Washington, a daughter of the late Gene and Virginia Louise Bice McDonough.
She attended Trinity High School and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jones loved to draw pictures of anything and write books about anything in hopes to have them published one day. Her favorite book was “Birds on a Journey.” She also loved to quilt and go to the casino. Mrs. Jones loved her family.
On June 25, 1967, she married Richard Paul Mooney Sr., who died November 7, 2006. On September 26, 1992, she married John Lee Jones, who survives.
Also surviving are her three children, Terri J. McElhaney of Canonsburg, Richard Paul (Robin) Mooney Jr. of Canonsburg and Jason Lee Mooney of Canonsburg; nine grandchildren, Andrew Engel, Kristopher Engel, Rebecca Harvison, Garrett Mooney, Tanner Mooney, Sheldon (Tanya) Mooney, Kodi Mooney, Savanna Mooney and Kaden Mooney; a great-granddaughter, Lyla Mooney; three nieces, Amanda (Jon) McCaulife, Samantha Harrison and Robin Ross; and many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her mother, father and first husband, are her stepfather, Fred Gray; a sister, Suzzane Ross; and a brother, Terry McDonough.
Her son, Jason Lee Mooney, said, “The Lord came December 26 of 2017 and took from us a wonderful lady. Although she is gone, she is reunited with her family. She had always longed to be back with her family.”
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m., the hour of memorial service, Tuesday, January 2, in Warco-Falvo Funeral Home Inc., Wilson at East Katherine Avenue, Washington, S. Timothy Warco, supervisor/director, Susan Falvo Warco, director, S. Timothy Warco II, director. Burial will be private.
