Gary Lee Cain
Gary Lee Cain, 77, of Mt. Morris, passed away Friday, December 29, 2017, in his home, with his loving family by his side.
He was born April 4, 1940, in Fairview, W.Va., a son of Raymond Cain and Hilda Thorne Cain.
Mr. Cain was a 1958 graduate of Mt. Morris High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1959 to 1963.
He was a retired coal miner, having worked for Consol Humphrey 7 mine.
Mr. Cain was a member of St. Hubert Roman Catholic Church of Point Marion, United Mine Workers Local 1058, American Legion Post 0992 of Mt. Morris and Mt. Morris Sportsman’s Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lynne Snyder.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Catherine Mentus Cain; two sons, Paul Cain and wife Lori of Taylorsville, Ky., and David Cain and wife Sherry of Bedford; five grandchildren, David, Madison and Abigail Cain and MacKenzie and Matthew Cain; two brothers, Dale Cain and Larry Cain; two sisters, Lola Ayres and Lois Barnhart; and a very special sweet angel, Jennifer.
Friends will be received from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and until 9:30 a.m., the time of service, Wednesday, January 3, in Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home, Thomas B. Rudolph, director & supervisor, 15 North Main Street, Point Marion, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Hubert Roman Catholic Church, Point Marion. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Morgan Township. Military rites will be accorded by Carmichaels American Legion Post 400.
