Joseph A. Gazvoda

Loved his family and was always willing to help
Joseph A. “Joe” Gazvoda, 57, of Triadelphia, W.Va., died unexpectedly Tuesday, June 13, 2017, in Wheeling (W.Va.) Hospital.
He was born September 26, 1959, in Washington, a son of Lois Bentz Gazvoda of Canonsburg and the late Joseph M. Gazvoda.
Mr. Gazvoda worked for Operating Engineers Local 66. A hardworking man, he was always willing to help anyone.
He loved his family, especially his three granddaughters, and was always ready with an open ear to listen to his kids. He loved his Harley-Davidson, playing ball with his dog, Kodak, berry picking and demolition derby.
On April 13, 1984, he married Janet L. Chase, who survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Theresa M. (Freddie) Simons of Triadelphia, Shannon (Brian Tohey) Gazvoda of Avella and Julie Gazvoda of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Robert Gazvoda of Canonsburg; a sister, Patty Lyn Gray of Houston; three granddaughters, Ellie Mae Simons, Abby Rae Simons and Kennedy Tohey; and a niece, Kelsey Gray of Houston.
Deceased, in addition to his father, is a son, Joseph Charles “Joey” Gazvoda, who died Thursday, June 15, 2017.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20.
