Dolores Jean Rankin
Dolores Jean Rankin, 84, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, November 1, 2017, in Donnell House, Washington, after a brief illness.
She was born June 7, 1933, a daughter of the late Clyde and Millicent Forsha Humberson.
A graduate of Weir High School, she was a member of Cross Creek Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed flower gardening and feeding and watching her birds, and listening to them after she lost her eyesight. Most important to her was the time she spent with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William Vance Rankin, whom she married May 4, 1953, passed away April 15, 1977.
Surviving are three daughters, Billi Jean Watson and husband Ron of Atlasburg, Becky Mader and husband Dennis of Cross Creek and Lori Rankin, with whom she made her home; six grandchildren, Tonya Buntjer and husband Mike, Elizabeth Jean Rightweiser and husband Carl, Shannon Bertovich and husband Charles, Ryan Watson and Stephanie and Sami Rankin; five great-grandchildren, Cobe, Zowe, Brady, Carly and Coryn; two brothers, Tim Humberson of Georgia and Terry Humberson and wife Christie of New Cumberland, W.Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are her longtime companion of 30 years, John “Elio” Manni, who passed away May 5, 2014; and a sister-in-law, Jo Humberson.
Friends will be received from 2 to 6 p.m., the time of services, Friday, November 3, in Lee and Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021. Inurnment will be held in Cross Creek Cemetery at a later date.
Because of the exceptional care given to Mrs. Rankin, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
