Thelma Jane Mason Foley, 79, of Cortland, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017, in her home.

She was born July 3, 1938, in Greene County, a daughter of the late Melva and Pearle Hoy Mason.

Mrs. Foley graduated from Mapletown High School. After high school, she worked at G.C. Murphy Co. until moving to Warren, Ohio, in 1963.

On July 28, 1963, she married LaVerne G. Foley, who survives.

Besides being a homemaker, she was formerly a member of First Assembly of God.

Mrs. Foley was employed at Warren Christian Preschool as a cook from 1987 to 2009.

She took pride and enjoyment in her love of family, gardening and serving faithfully at her church. Her ministries at church were teaching Sunday school, Missionettes girls’ program and vacation Bible school.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two daughters, Tammy Sue Foley and Kathy Jane Foley, both of Cortland; a son, Scott (Nadia) Foley of Solon, Ohio; two grandsons, Eugene and Michael Foley; three brothers, James (Marge) Mason of Waynesburg, John (Armeda) Mason of Leesburg, Fla., and the Rev. Jack (Nina) Mason of Phoenixville; three sisters, Patricia (Donald) Headlee of Waynesburg, Joan Spitznogle and Joyce (Keith) Anderson of Mt. Morris; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, Saturday, November 4, in Victory Christian Center Warren Campus, 4257 Tod Avenue NW, Warren, OH 44485, where Pastor Mikel Lagaras and the Rev. Jack Mason will officiate. Entombment will be in Meadow Brook Memorial Park, Warren.
