John Edward Stefko
John Edward Stefko, 68, of Canonsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 2, 2017, in his home.
He was born August 18, 1949, in Johnstown, a son of the late John L. and Jane Pialet Stefko.
On July 19, 1978, he married Linda Joyce, who survives.
Mr. Stefko was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg.
He was a 1969 graduate of South Fayette High School.
Mr. Stefko was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy and stationed in Vietnam.
He was a member of Carpenters Union and was a self-employed drywall specialist for 35 years, until his retirement. He was employed as a security guard at Friendship Village of South Hills from 2010 until his retirement in 2015.
His hobbies included collecting Lionel trains and RVing with his wife, Linda. Above all, he was a loving husband and father and proud grandfather of his seven grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Katherine “Kate” Speer (Matt), Eric Stefko (Susan) and Andrew “Andy” Stefko, all of Canonsburg; two sisters, Grace Hostetter (Bill) of Claysville and Elaine Brown of Washington; seven grandchildren, Brian, Liam, Ethan and Luke Speer and Jackson, Jordyn and Jade Stefko; and several nieces and nephews.
