Janet Cursi, 72, of Leesburg, Va., passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017, in her home.

She was born in Washington, a daughter of the late C.E. Ames and Irena Ames.

Mrs. Cursi graduated from California State College of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in education. She spent the next 14 years teaching third and fourth grades in Canon-McMillan School District and Fairfax County, Va., public schools. After spending time as a full-time mom, she worked for Loudon Medical Group in Leesburg.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Vincent R. Cursi; a son, Chris (Alyssia) Cursi of Salem, Va.; a daughter, Cara Cursi (fiancé John Nolan) of Bristow, Va.; a sister, Ghyneth Rowden of Sterling, Va.; and two grandchildren, Willow and Calder Cursi.

Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
