Thomas William Hartley Sr.
Thomas William Hartley Sr., 87, of California, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
He was born Saturday, March 8, 1930, in East Pike Run Township, a son of the late Frank Allan Hartley and Sarah Elizabeth Coking Hartley.
Mr. Hartley was a member of Monongahela Valley Lodge 461, F&AM, and a lifelong and retired member of California Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a lifelong member of United Christian Church, Disciples of Christ.
In addition to his parents, “Pap” was also preceded in death by his wife, Louise Hudson Hartley, who died January 22, 2017; two children, Kaylynn Lohr and Kenneth Lee Hartley; five brothers, Allen, Charles, Fred, Robert and James Hartley; and four sisters, Mary Jakubisn, Martha Chisler, Christine Armstrong and Ethel Brodak.
Left to cherish his memory are a son, Thomas W. Hartley Jr. and wife Linda of California; a son-in-law, James Lohr of Martinsburg; two sisters, Frances Volcheck and Shirley Harris and husband Edgar, both of California; six grandchildren, Lisa Adams and husband Dan, Thomas W. Hartley III and wife Stacie, Jimmy Lohr and Jonathan Weber, Holly Sivits and husband Jeremy, Michelle Glass and husband Mark and Kristen Bramson and husband Dave; and eight great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and until 11 a.m., the time of service, Monday, November 6, in Mariscotti Funeral Home Inc., Anthony N. Mariscotti, supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, with pastors Mark McCallion and Steven Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery, California.
California Volunteer Fire Department will accord services at 7 p.m., followed by Masonic services at 7:30 p.m. Sunday evening in the funeral home.
