Richard L. Gorby
Richard L. “Dick” Gorby, 82, of Washington, went home to be with his Lord Tuesday, October 31, 2017, with his loving wife by his side.
He was born February 21, 1935, in Washington, a son of the late Rena Martin.
Mr. Gorby attended Trinity High School and was a veteran of the U.S. National Guard.
He worked as an electrician at Jessop Steel Co. for 37 years.
Mr. Gorby enjoyed golf and spending time with family. He was a member of Jessop Employee Club and a former member of Alpine Club.
He was Baptist.
Mr. Gorby could fix everything and was known as “Mr. Fix It.” He was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan.
On January 19, 1953, he married Peggy Rush, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Donald) Jacobs of Washington and Kym (Nicholas) Pizza of Deltona, Fla.; four grandchildren, Brittany (Richard) Lunceford, Nikya Pizza, Kiersten (Joseph) Zapata and Jennifer (Stephen) Breen; and two great-grandchildren, Kaliana Pizza and Aria Zapata.
Deceased are two sons, Richard Eric Gorby and Gregory Scott Gorby, and a great-grandson, Fynn Breen.
At the request of the deceased, a private memorial service was held with Joyce L. Hannen officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
