William George Brown

William George Brown, 59, of Spraggs, Greene County, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 4, 2017, in UPMC-Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born March 22, 1958, in Buffalo, N.Y., a son of Jacqueline Maciag Wilfson of Waynesburg and George C. Brown of Bellaire, Md.

Mr. Brown was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Canonsburg, and Knights of Columbus Counsel 12703, Waynesburg.

He was self-employed as Artisan Paper and Painting and was a gifted and well-known professional at his craft.

He served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Brown lived in the Spraggs area since 1991.

Left behind to cherish his memory, in addition to his parents, are his beloved children, Martin Tucker Brown of Philadelphia and Emily Melissa Brown of Bellefonte; four sisters, Kathy (the late George) Monath of Whiteford, Md., Nance (Kim) Zech of Blythewood, S.C., Mary (William) Phillips of Waynesburg and Beth Rawlings of Bellaire; his loving friend, Nicole Accordino; several nieces; and a nephew.

Friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, in Salandra Funeral and Cremation Services Inc., Joseph P. Salandra, owner/supervisor, 304 West Pike Street, Canonsburg, 724-745-8120, where departing prayers will be recited at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 8. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon in St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 317 West Pike Street, Canonsburg. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Canonsburg, with full military rights accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191, Canonsburg, and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
