Alex John Kopolovich

Alex John Kopolovich, 70, of Southwest Veterans Center, Pittsburgh, formerly of Burgettstown, died Friday, November 10, 2017.

He was born October 29, 1947, in Washington, a son of the late Charles and Caroline Pirih Kopolovich.

Mr. Kopolovich was a graduate of Burgettstown High School and Clarion University School of Nursing.

He retired from Oil City Hospital, where he worked as an emergency department nurse. He also worked as a paramedic for Oil City Fire Department, Seneca Fire Department and Citizens Ambulance Service.

Mr. Kopolovich was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam conflict.

He was Protestant.

Surviving are two sisters, Lois (Robert) Sakerka of Hernando, Fla., and Ruth (the Rev. James) Newman of Washington.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 13, with the Rev. James Newman officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory, with full military honors accorded by the U.S. Army and American Legion Post 175.
