Ronald Cameron Silbaugh
Ronald Cameron Silbaugh, 78, of West Salem, Ohio, passed away Friday morning, November 10, 2017, in Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Ashland, Ohio.
He was born in Mather, a son of the late Alvin and Florence Conn Silbaugh.
Mr. Silbaugh was the 1957 wrestling champion at Penn State from Jefferson-Morgan High School.
He proudly served his country during the Korean conflict in the U.S. Army, being stationed in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
On December 31, 1957, Mr. Silbaugh married the former Shirley Kinsell.
He retired from Alcoa Aluminum after more than 42 years of service.
Throughout his life, Mr. Silbaugh enjoyed golf, riding snowmobiles, jet skiing and playing softball. He was a member of Brookside-Parkside Masonic Lodge 736.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Shirley Silbaugh of West Salem; two daughters, Debra (Greg) Hanfbauer of Morrow, Ohio, and Kimberly (Chuck) Alexander of Ashland; five grandchildren, Christopher (Marsha) Cember, Melissa Cember, Alicia (Daniel) Nichols, Dwayne Matson Jr. and Cassandre Matson; six great-grandchildren, Cameron, Peyton, Ryleigh, Brandon, Addison and Mattis; a sister, Ida Mae Cearer; and five brothers, John, Alvin, David, Forrest and William Silbaugh.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three brothers, Robert, Barry and Thomas Silbaugh, and two sisters, Janet Wheeler and Faye Olschesky.
Services will be held privately for the family in Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, Ashland, with the Rev. Jeff Coggins officiating. Interment will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Seville, Ohio.
