Peter Korica Jr.
Peter Korica Jr., 81, of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 11, 2017, in Washington Hospital.
He was born November 1, 1936, in Bridgeville, a son of Peter and Katherine Klaich Korica Sr.
Mr. Korica was a graduate of Bridgeville High School.
He served with the U.S. Army Signal Corps from November 1959 to February 1962.
For 22 years, he worked for Papercraft of Blawnox as a system analyst and data processing manager, retiring in 1985. Following his retirement, he partnered with his brother to form Korica Sunrooms of Canonsburg for two years.
Mr. Korica belonged to American Legion Post 902 of Houston and Houston Independent Club.
He was an avid golfer and belonged to the league at Village Green Golf Course. He also enjoyed boating.
On April 11, 1959, he married Joyce Dielsi, who died December 20, 2011.
Surviving are a sister, Helen Fatigati of Cecil; a sister-in-law, Yvonne Korica of South Fayette Township; his loving companion of two years, Shirley Mucha of Peters Township; loving nieces Valerie Harper (Chuck), Mary Jo Groves (Rob), Joyce Shaw (Kevin), Karen Gilchrist (Rob) and Vicki Geffrey; nephews Bill Fatigati Jr. (Diane) and Veto Asti Jr.; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Emil Korica; two sisters, Mary Drexler and husband Joseph and Emilie Asti and husband Veto; and a brother-in-law, Bill Fatigati.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 16, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township, with full military honors provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 Honor Guard, Canonsburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Donnell House, 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301.
