Fred Gene Thompson Sr.
Fred Gene Thompson Sr., 88, of Washington, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 12, 2017, in his home.
He was born February 27, 1929, in Washington, a son of the late Elmer Thompson and Alma Patton Thompson.
Mr. Thompson owned and operated Fred Thompson Auto Repair.
He enjoyed camping and fishing and loved his dog, Bubba.
On November 16, 1947, he married Helen L. Blacka, who passed away March 6, 2016.
Surviving are two sons, Fred Gene (Anne) Thompson Jr. of Fresno, Calif., and James (fiancée Johnna Anthony) Thompson of Washington; a daughter, Joyce D. (the late Richard) Hennick of Washington; grandchildren Richard Hennick, Bryan (Lisa) Hennick, Laurie (Brandon) Blackhurst, Erin (Brandon) Kennedy, Shawn (Tracey) Thompson and Todd (Rebekah) Thompson, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are three brothers, Elmer, William and Paul Thompson; and a sister, Joy Wise.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 16. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
