Edward W. O’Keefe
Edward W. “Bill” O’Keefe, 84, of Houston, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017, in Washington Hospital.
He was born January 12, 1933, in Turtle Creek, a son of Edward and Margaret Rothrauff O’Keefe.
Mr. O’Keefe was a graduate of Scott High School in Braddock.
He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army.
He was an insurance adjuster for Motorist Mutual for over 20 years.
Mr. O’Keefe was a member of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Meadow Lands.
His joys included puzzles, sudoku and watching legal dramas on TV. But most important was the time he spent with family, especially his grandchildren.
On March 2, 1953, he married Marliyn L. Barkman, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Lora Breton (Keith) of Canton, Ga., and Patricia Bails (David) of Houston; two grandchildren, Joshua and Chloe Bails; two sisters, Margaret Giacomo of Penn Hills and Donna Price of Monroeville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Friday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 18, in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Meadow Lands. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 300 Pike Street, Box 366, Meadow Lands, PA 15347.
