Charles W. Woodburn
Charles W. Woodburn, 89, of Washington, died Thursday, November 16, 2017, in his home.
He was born November 9, 1928, in Washington, a son of Donald E. and Olive L. Mumbower Woodburn.
Mr. Woodburn was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving with the U.S. Army.
He worked as a layout man with the former Cooper Power Systems.
Mr. Woodburn was a life member of American Legion Post 175 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 927, both in Washington. He was also a member of Jessop Club, Washington.
On October 9, 1993, he married Nyla Dolores Rice, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Charles W. Woodburn Jr. of Washington; a daughter, Margaret (William) Brownlee of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Cox of Washington; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, William and Robert Woodburn, and a sister, Shirley Bongiovanni.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m., the time of service, Saturday, November 18, in Hummell & Jones Funeral Home, Thomas W. Hummell, supervisor, Douglas M. Jones, director, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington. Interment will be held at a later date in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
