George Elmer Simpson, 69, a longtime resident of McDonald, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017.

He was born December 14, 1947, a son of the late William R. and Mary Althea Simpson.

Surviving are his children, Amy Taneyhill (Scott), David Simpson Sr. (Traci) and Lee Simpson (Wendy); seven grandchildren, Alyssa Shroyer (Dalton), Sarah Taneyhill (Jeffrey), David W. Simpson Jr. (Jess), Jacob Simpson, Zachary Simpson, Chase Simpson and Joshua Simpson; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Skolikas and Sherry Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Simpson also had an additional great-grandchild on the way.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a son, George Elmer Simpson Jr.; a great-grandchild; and three brothers, William, John and Jim.

Mr. Simpson donated his body to science for cancer research.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, November 18, in Red Carpet Golf, 2200 Old National Pike, Washington.
