Richard McVay Strott
Richard McVay Strott, 77, of Newark, Ohio, a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, in Flint Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Newark.
He was born in 1940, in Washington, a son of the late A.W.T. and Ruth McVay Strott.
Mr. Strott was a graduate of Washington High School and was employed by Kroger as an attendant.
He was a passionate Pittsburgh Steelers fan and model train collector.
Mr. Strott was a member of Northside Church of Christ, Newark.
Surviving are a sister, Leola Sheffler; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Mary Beamer.
Deceased, in addition to his parents, are three brothers.
A memorial service celebrating Mr. Strott’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 17, in Northside Church of Christ, 4427 Marion Road, Newark, with the Rev. Frank Austin as celebrant. A private graveside service with full military honors will be held in Washington Cemetery.
